Dear Daughter,

I know one day you would come to the knowledge of your emotions and traction for boys. Your mum by that time would begin to dream of marriage and then ask me to give you some pep talk on men.

So here we go.

  1. Don’t look for true happiness in Marriage, only God can give you this.
  2. There is a thin line between the Man you date and after you marry him
  3. Men see wooing a woman as winning a trophy; you might feel like an item on the shelf sometimes.
  4. Men are from Mars and women are from Venus  ( not you my angel**wink wink**)
  5. The holy book says, ”Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2; 24). But in this scripture are hidden truths; it says one flesh and not one spirit. This means they both would still have their individuality (Background check is important).
  6. When you feel like your biological clock is ticking don’t panic, it is worth the wait trust me.
  7. Kids would come and it is a whole new twist to relationships
  8. Size matters( I did not say you should test market, but speak to your mum about this)
  9. African men are not romantic; if you want flowers buy them for yourself.
  10. European men are romantic, guess because they are weary of alimony.
  1. Your money is your money, don’t go for the quickly borrow (lend) me trick men use.
  2. Marriage is a bed of roses, but don’t forget the thorns.
  3. Don’t loose your dreams; they can still be accomplished even when you are married find a balance.

I love you

But dad, why all the pessimism but you and mum turned out right, you might ask? Wait till your husband writes to your daughter too, I would say.

Yours truly,

Dad or call me, Austine.

PS: Your mum might edit this but you know I am always here to talk to.
