About Founder

How it all started

As a young African woman, I was raised to believe that my life’s journey was already predetermined: grow up, get an education, get married, have children, and just weather through life. However, after moving to the UK with a young child and another on the way, I began to feel lost and confused about my identity. Despite becoming a mother, I felt like something was missing and I longed for a place where I could share my struggles and find the right support.

After searching for answers on UK mum websites and realizing that my experiences as an African woman were slightly different, I decided to create Mumsaloud, a platform where women of African descent can find a community of like-minded individuals and receive the support and encouragement they need. Mumsaloud is focused on rediscovering the authentic self, harnessing personal power, and rewriting the rules of motherhood.

My vision

My vision for Mumsaloud is to empower women to be their authentic selves, find their personal power, and challenge societal norms and expectations. As a woman and a mother, I understand the complex issues that women face on a daily basis, and I believe in creating a safe space for women to share their experiences, find support, and inspire each other.

My voice

I am a voice in the advocacy of purpose development for Women, especially of African Heritage. I help ambitious working mums to find work-life harmony. My message is simple -Women can live a full and fulfilling life without compromising on what truly matters.

More About Me

Mrs Bokun

It’s a common myth that as mums we must sacrifice certain parts of our lives to fulfil the true joys of motherhood — from work, to health, to relationships. Most of us have to juggle between family, work , health and more.

Bokun Inspires empowers and educates mums, especially of African heritage on how to rediscover their true and authentic self whilst living life with a badge of originality.

Bokun believes in the woman making herself a priority and living a life beyond the labels of motherhood, marriage, culture or skin colour so that she can truly rediscover herself as the complete woman that she was designed to be.
